Book cover designs are a great way to represent the theme of a book through the use of symbolism and graphic choices, rather than directly alluding to what happens in the reading. For these book sleeves, I created the front, back, and spine of the cover for the novel, Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison, and the Greek tragedy, Antigone by Sophocles. I chose to create custom typefaces for the titles of both books, in order to best match the essence that each book promotes.
In addition, I started the process by using analog methods. This involved cutting up paper and taping them together to form imagery                                                               for both the wing and column shapes.
